Rajnikant Patel BSE – Creating a better economic future of the country!The name that every single individual from finance industry of India can recognize in a single go, Rajnikant Patel BSE is truly a gem for this country. In his long 33 years career, he has worked relentlessly the most prestigious banks as well as finance institutes in India.

Starting his career as a mere clerk in the Bank of Maharashtra, he gradually grew his career step by step. First as an officer in the State of Saurashtra and then as Assistant General Manager in the Reserve Bank of India. For more than 14 years from 1984 to 1997, Rajnikant Patel has been a renowned name.

However, it was later during 1997 to 2001 that Rajnikant left the banking sector. He entered the Audit and Inspection department of BNP Paribas. This was a turning point in his career. What he had learned in banks finally came into use as he became the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bombay Stock Exchange.

Contribution in the Bombay Stock Exchange:

Rajnikant Patel BSE has been best known for his contributions to the development and betterment of Bombay Stock Exchange or BSE. He converted into a Limited Company under the Govt. of India Corporatization and Demutualization of Stock Exchanges Scheme for better operation. Regardless to mention, this was a bold step for Patel and BSE, as BSE was the first exchange in the country to undergo this change.

While working in BSE, Patel worked with SEBI and Ministry of Finance. It was he, who had introduced and implemented the Real Time Online Surveillance system into BSE for the customers’ benefit. His remarkable contribution brought him –

  • Gold Medal from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI for 2 consecutive years. He received it for the best annual report.
  • Business Superbrand Award.
  • Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Governance for BSE.

Life post BSE:

After leaving BSE, Patel worked for Reliance Spot and Reliance Exchange Next from the year 2008 to 2010. Not only this, but he also continued to implement his innovative ideas to Indian Commodity Exchange. There he worked as the CEO and Managing Director from 2010 to 2013.

Training the Youth:

While working with BSE, Rajnikant Patel realized that the country required skilled and professional individuals. Only they can handle the finance and economic sectors well. Therefore, he –

  • Launched the first full-time MBA program from the NM University for Capital Markets
  • Upgraded BSE Training Institute into an International Capital Market Institute from a mere broker training institute.

Rajnikant Patel BSE is now working as the regular and guest faculty for many of the prestigious institutes and universities, imparting his knowledge. The knowledge that he has received in his 33 years of career and experience is truly beneficial for the aspiring finance executives of future India.
